Environment is part of the main focuses when considering how high school and college differ. An environment can be characterized as sustainable and flexible. For example, a sustainable environment is considered high school standard, which is strict and has a set schedule. However, college has a flexible standard, in which the students are able to set up a schedule that fits their daily lives. In high school, students sometimes feel as if they are trapped inside a large box with walls, while in college, students get a sense of freedom.
