Easily one of them is dealing with race, in the past it used to be african americans, now it is all races that are forced into slavery. Now in the day, slavery was to work on crops, or work as something like a maid. But now, it is used to pay off a smuggling debt to mostly young illegal foreigners brought into the us. (“Trans-Atlantic slavery and contemporary human trafficking”). Also they would sell slaves or trade them in the 1830’s, now they just keep the same until the slaves most likely runs away. The final thing that is different between slavery in the 1830’s and human trafficking is it’s more money for the women then the men nowadays, unlike the past because the men did more work and heavy lifting then the women. The main similarity is the forced “Breeding” rituals. Plus the main difference is how in the past you were african american, and now it’s to pay off a smuggling debt. That is the some of the similarities and differences between slavery in the 1830’s and Human
