The idea is incorporate activities to widen their circles of inclusion to include people of all different race groups (p. 291). By starting when humans are younger, and teaching them to accept diversity amongst humanity makes them not perceive someone one as being black or another minority, but as a human. Parents play a big part in how their children see race. In-group bias goes up amongst both white and black children whose parents have avoided discussing cultural and skin color differences with them (Katz, 2003). Researchers Vietze and Hildebrant suggest parenting with a multicultural conscious approach.
