In Pakistani society, family is a basic and unit in the society. The respect and honor is the foundation of the family, therefore, people in the family live for the respect and dignity of the family. They are proud to be known by their family. Each person in the family is connected to each other and there are duties and rights for each family member. We see different type of family system like nuclear, joint, and extended and stem family system in Pakistan.

Changing in social systems, cultural values has influenced our family system as well. Our traditional family system is disappearing and modern or nuclear family system has emerged largely. This new family systems in return influences our behaviors, norms, values and lifestyles. Not any single factor is responsible for this disintegration the present research has been conducted to highlight the factors of disintegration of joint family system in Rawalakot.

2 Review of the Literature The causes of disintegration of joint family system have become very serious problem. Because many crimes are caused by family disintegration. The present -day life is different from old time. People are making to change their order of priority. There are some possible causes of disintegration of joint family system, conflict, industrialization, rapid communication and transport, decline of agricultural and village trades, individual freedom, better socialization of children, privacy and impact of west.
The traditional joint family system has undergone both structural and functional changes. The joint family system has been disrupted due to several factors. As Kapadia has pointed out, “with the advent of the British, a transformation of the cultural pattern became inevitable by virtue of new economic organization, ideology and administrative system the British brought with them. (Graham
