Today’s generation doesn’t know what it’s like without any kind of social media. Thompson illiterates the problems we face through his essay by ambient awareness. Carr describes how the internet is changing the nation. He explains in his text, that the internet distracts and interrupts us people, which makes us scattered and superficial thinkers. “Whereas the internet scatters our attention, the book focus it. Unlike the screen, the page promotes contemplativeness” (page 23). Carr proves himself by attending many university’s and provides statistics that college students do poorly with internet connection to gain information. With the use of books, the human brain can focus on any read then the internet we don’t learn anything. If people continue to use the internet as much as we do now our future will lack too much
