These students come from all from different backgrounds, and geographical locations. Various student organizations are geared toward providing an outlet to other students to experience their particular culture such as Latin American Student Organization, Black Student Union, and African Student Association as well as various Greek life organizations. These organizations put on events within the EIU community and based on interviews with these members of these organizations, diversity in regards to the people who attend these events is lacking. Some students feel that EIU is highly segregated when it comes to social events. This does not include large scale events such as Welcome Back Weekend or Homecoming. Members of these niche organizations cannot seem to attract audiences from different cultures and this has become a problem with not just attendance regarding event numbers but also stereotype labels placed on events and people and segregation on
