His work inspired awe and fear in human’s role in the environment and the future of civilization. Burtynsky’s work challenged people to make better choices that might mitigate the destruction of their surroundings.
As a photographer and artist, Edward Burtynsky has successfully created art that not only captivates his audience but also which inspires in depth introspection of the major features of our environment. One of his projects that captured my attention greatly is ‘Water’, which explored the various ways through which water shapes, and influences us. I especially loved his artwork titled, “Verona Walk” that captured the unique water and suburb landscape in Naples, Florida, in the United States. The art demonstrates the artist’s use of various elements of art that include line and scale and the principles of negative and positive space and repetition. In ‘Verona Walk’, Burtynsky reveals his use of line as he captures the symmetrical nature of the plots of land that show the architecture design in
