It went from being easy-breezy and being really fast to being really difficult and taking hours and hours. Now everyone has to go through suitcase checks and metal detectors. One used to be able to take drinks and food from places they came from onto the plane, but now the TSA throws out things if one tries to bring drink or food onto a plane. They do this because the drink could have poison, or a liquid to make a bomb, and the food could contain a weapon, a bomb, or something else that could kill people. These are just a few of the ways that airport security has changed since 9/11/2001. The government has done a lot to make it harder to board a plane. They have made it hard because they now do random checks on random innocent people. There are a lot of Middle Eastern people being pulled out of line at the airport to be checked if they are terrorists. This is extremely racist and it would most likely make the people if they happen to be from a foreign country never want to visit America ever again.
