Have you ever stopped to think about what life will be like in the future? Would technology take over our lives? Would we get too caught up in life that we would forget what really matters? Fahrenheit 451 is a futuristic book that takes place in a dystopian society where books are banned and people are too caught up in technology that they fail to notice all the things they are missing. The protagonist, Guy Montag, works as a fireman, but in this book, firemen are used to burn books and start fires instead of putting them out. Throughout the book, he learns and realizes that he’s been living his life all wrong and that books-and life- have more to it than it may seem. In the novel Fahrenheit 451 author Ray Bradbury displays the idea that family and giving them love and attention is very important, and that being knowledgeable can make a huge difference in your life, but it can also have a negative effect; this becomes clear to readers when many people in the society, including Montag experience this and, are able to notice it and try to change it for the better while others don't give it the attention it needs.
