Fourthly alcoholism increased with Americans seeking outlets for escape,compounded by the prohibition in 1933. And lastly,is the rates of abandonment had increased because the husbands chose to leave their wives because they didn't have enough to provide for both of them. So based on my opinion I believe that the president did cause a great change in the country but it wasn’t in a good way.For instance, he caused people to lose money and their homes,also forced them to leave to find different jobs opportunity. And finally he caused starvation and sickness because of the lack of food and heat that the people had. Firstly Herbert Hoover did everything he possibly could first of all he told employers in Union Workers to work together to help the country get back where it was again. But unfortunately that did not work,companies begin to run out of business and they need more soup kitchens to feed the people that lost their homes. During this time Herbert Hoover had only one huge success and that was the Hoover Dam which benefit most of the Southwest. But, as the depression got worse Herbert Hoover found multiple law acts designed to boost economy and he passed the RFC that gave 2 billion dollars to Banks and the federal home loan which lowered mortgage rates. Based on the reasons that I just stated in my opinion it makes Herbert Hoover a great president because he at least tried to help the people but his ideas didn't work.Some people say Herbert Hoover was in the wrong place at the wrong time because if the depression had happened at a different time his ideas might have been great.But unfortunately people in the past found Hoover as a uncaring person and against the American people because he wasn't helping them. For example, Herbert Hoover said that people should succeed on their own effort, and that they should not rely on the government to help them out. Which I find unlikely for a president to say because he is supposed to be helping out the people.Herbert tried to have an impact
