The people are shocked that the amazing singer is a homosexual, and that he asked to sing with a homophobic. He even has taken a decade off with only producing 1 album each year. John has made his main part in life of helping people with AIDS (Schlesinger, 2008). The journey of Elton John is identified by his outrageous style of clothes, controlling his very own AIDS foundation, having the fastest-selling single ever produced, and simply being one of the best Pop/Rock singer to ever take the stage. John’s career started when he won a piano scholarship. He could play the piano at age 3; his parents said that playing was his innate talent (White, 1997). John earned a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music in London

The Elton John AIDS Foundation gave 10% of its funds to AIDS prevention education and 90% to direct funds (Schlesinger, 2008). The National AIDS Fund has helped John raise $33 million dollars for AIDS (White, 1997). John also sang at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, an AIDS charity, in 1992 for Freddie Mercury who died from AIDS. He sang a song for Ryan White called "That's What Friends Are For" with Gladys Knight, Dionne Warwick, and Stevie Wonder in 1985 that raised funds for AIDS research. He raised funds for the Elton John AIDS Foundation by joining Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, and the Black Eyed Peas on American Idol in 2010 (Prono, 2015). The Elton John AIDS Foundation raised $500,000 from an online charity auction that helped John in a desperate time. Elton's Closet sold 10,000 items that raised $400,000 for AIDS research in 2007.
