The epidemiology course is a tremendous part of public health and pushes students to examine how the determinants of health affect populations. In the example provided, a group paper was written by four graduate students (Yessenia Albanez, Tamara Jreseit, Autumn Jensen, and myself) and one master of health care management student (Freddy Medina). The skills mastered through writing this paper was not only learning how to select peer review articles that related to the topic of assessing the occurrence of non-medical use and abuse of prescription drugs among college students, but determining what type of study’s those articles had and their importance on this paper.
