He knew that every person should be an equal. He showed that democracy isn’t all about the chaos but the power in the union. Equal rights didn’t stop and the 13th amendment, because the 14th amendment when that Atlantic slave trade ended, in order to ensure permanent change, which granted citizenship and the right to due process for African Americans.
