Some highlights from the game were that Carli Lloyd scored the fastest hat trick in world history. Her first goal was in the third minute when Megan Rapinoe launched a corner ball and Carli Lloyd ran through the box and scored. The end score was 2-2 and Japan won in a shoot out. This previous game and outcome caused an outcry for a rematch. The rematch delivered results and surprisingly happened in consecutive World Cups. Two teams of the same country had never made two World Cups in a row before. Thus it created even more buzz when the U.S.A played a different type of game and won almost effortlessly.

Abby had played in both the 2012 and 2015 FIFA World Cup’s. At the end of her career she had 252 international appearances, 2 olympic gold medals, and ended as U.S Captain.
