Ever since I was young I always knew that I wanted to be in science or medicine. When I got to my third year in high school I thought I wanted to be a pharmacist. This was because a friend told me that it takes six years to graduate as a pharmacist: however, the average pay is around a hundred thousand a year. Since I was already into science I thought pharmacy would be perfect for me.
Throughout my first two years in college I took all my pre requisites for pre pharmacy classes, which were mainly biology and chemistry courses. Then one of my good friends, Fee, told me to take the nutrition 2030 online because it was an easy A. I took it and I really enjoyed this class. I went to my counselor because I wanted to see if I was on the right track for pharmacy and was told I would need to have at least a 3.5 GPA to be competitive. This is important to me because many college students lack research skills in order to become successful in the career they choose to do. Some important skills include problem solving skills, learning skills, communication skills, and writing and researching. These skills are important for my career choice because the FDA bases their determinations on research. The FDA has many opportunities that revolve around research that has my interest. For example, toxicological research is an important function of the FDA. I believe strong research and writing skills will help me obtain a research position for the FDA. If I obtain a research position with the FDA, these skills will allow me to feel confident and ready to complete the job requirements. Research and writing skills will also prepare me for interviewing nutrition experts and gain knowledge as to how they conduct research, as well as gain information about their career
