Essay On Loch Ness Monster

There is an old legend about a monster living in the depths of Loch Ness. Some say that it is a dinosaur, others say it's a giant serpent, and others believe it is something else. However, I believe it is one big fat hoax. Many Loch Ness plants and animals are large, large enough to be confused for a monster. One example of something that could be confused as a monster is a sturgeon. Many Loch Ness sightings described Nessie to have bony plates on its back, which matches a sturgeons description perfectly. Sturgeons can weigh several hundred pounds and have ridged backs which make them look almost reptilian. Another possibility is the giant pines that surround Loch Ness. When a pine dies and topples into the water it later becomes waterlogged and sinks.While it is underwater, “botanical chemicals start trapping tiny bubbles”(Mancini). As the bubbles are collecting the water pressure is changing the shape of the log. Eventually, the bubbles trap enough air and the log floats up in its new shape, which could look like a lake monster. Nessie was once believed to be real by many, many people. But that number has shrunk significantly as the years go on, and more and more evidence that the Loch Ness Monster is fake continues to come out, such as that it could be a large sturgeon or a fallen pine tree in the water. The fake photos that were once focal points for nessie believers are continuing to be proven fake, like the surgeon's photo. And the most famous theory of Nessie actually being a dinosaur was also proven by science to be almost impossible because of the minimal amount of fish in the Loch, and how cold the Loch usually is. With all of this evidence against Nessie, it is likely that the Loch Ness monster is likely just one big fat
