The United States was going to start bringing thousands of refugees to american soil. By mid 2001 the united States and were ready to start bringing them to America. Then September 11th happened and the united states couldn't risk bringing over any possible suspects or terrorists. They decided to make refugee camps for them in Africa while they filtered through and rechecked every refugee. In the Film Rain in a Dry Land we learned about some of their hardships they still struggled with in america. While the most difficult thing was the language barrier in second place was trying to scrounge up enough money to buy groceries or pay the electric bill.
