One of the biggest factors that increase anxiety is safety drills. Safety drills include fire drills, tornado drills, and intruder drills. According to W. Fermont “Literature suggests that the threat of crisis events can negatively affect children's anxiety levels” (Zhe and Nickerson). So instead of school administration making expectations higher and thinking students are not trying hard enough, they should take into account all the research school induced anxiety. This would help produce better and happier students. Not only would students learn more they would also have higher test scores and it would lower the percentage of high school dropouts. Schools would have maximum high school graduates and more students would be likely to continue to a secondary education. This would be extremely crucial in most student’s lives after school to be qualified for careers and start great career
