I lived in Asia for four years during my military service. It was during my travels there that I would come across the most hospitable, kind, and helpful people and communities. Some say that you are a product of your environment, which I believe to be true. Being surrounded by so many giving and selfless people I began to implement these qualities into my life and found that producing positivity through actions was something our world needs more of.

I will apply knowledge gained through my ecological studies at The Evergreen State College to make positive changes. Since starting my studies here at Evergreen I have stayed true to my course and attended classes that focus largely on past, present, and future environmental issues. By currently participating in a marine science course and attending more ecology courses in the near future I plan on obtaining a Bachelors degree and transferring to a graduate school where I can continue to study. My intentions can be summarized into a few simple words, I intend to achieve more than a label, but a greater understanding of the world around us.
