This report will cover the main points about the evolution of domestic cats and how they have evolved and adapted in different ways. These points will be concise so that readers will be informed about the domestic cat’s behaviour this is important in case one day they may own a cat and the knowledge will come to use. The report will mainly be based on the Persian cat. The Persian cat originated from Iran and has odd features such as a round head with a small nose and a short face (Soard L, 2015).
How is behaviour Inherited?
Behaviour is inherited through the genes and DNA passed on by their parents the mother and father. Inherited behaviour (Nature) is there instinctive behaviour e.g. for a Persian cat there instinct would be to hunt for birds and mice and the behaviour they didn't inherit and isn't instinctive would be known as a learned behaviour (Nurture) such as the cat running into the feeding area once it has heard you opening the tin/packet of food (Whiteley, E 2015).

Some kittens will learn all this by themselves as an instinctive behaviour or justby watching other cats (Case L, 2003). Other ways for the kitten/cat to practice is having toys, especially squeaky mice this them gives them opportunities to practice inside the home if cat is an indoor cat because being indoors all the time gives them no real experience of what they would do natively outdoors (Perfect Paws Publishing,
