What is a hero? Is it what people see in movies, a man in tight and has super powers? A hero can come in any shape, size, gender, or race. From a superhero like The Flash or a Police Officer people see in their everyday lives, heros are found everywhere. In the the Marvel comics, Daredevil, DC comics, The Flash, and reality, Police officer, heroes are men who have shown distinguished courage or ability, and who is admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities, But a police officer does not have these special abilities that superheroes from fictional comics have, and still shows courage and is admired for bravery and noble qualities.

To most, a police officer is respected and honored for these qualities. For example, Alex Lickerman, Therapist M.D., argues what makes a hero. “it's the willingness to make a personal sacrifice for the benefit of others” (Lickermans 1). Police officers risk their lives everyday to save any civilian in danger. They sacrifice their lives for the lives of everyone in the city they protect. By a police officer sacrificing more, he is classified as a hero as well. When referencing Cape May Police Captain Rob Sheehan, David Chang, a writer from Nbc Philadelphia, quotes Rob SHeehan, “Krissinger sprinted towards the vehicle, pulled the unconscious driver out to safety, He didn’t hesitate...He’s a hero in every sense of the word and we’re very happy to have him as a member of our department” (Chang 1). When a police officer drove up to a burning car, he noticed someone was still inside so he geared into action and ran to a burning car and pulled a person out of flames to saves his life. By going into that car he risked severe skin burns to saves one person from death, he was willing to die for the safety of one person.
