Stereotype: a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing. We’ve all heard the word. We’ve all been told not to do it, yet we still do. I seem to always here the excuse “but it’s true!” after individuals stereotype people guiltily, but what they don't realize is that doesn’t make them any less rude. Just because a characteristic is “true” about one person with an attribute doesn’t mean another random person with the same attribute has the same characteristic. That’s like me saying, “You eat chocolate? Well then you must be obese then!” or “Your the youngest child in your family?
