Willpower is “strong determination that allows you to do something difficult”. Such as trying to lose weight or stop smoking- it’s hard, and it takes self determination and self control. (Merriam Webster, Learner’s Dictionary) In the book Hatchet, Brian acquired and showed willpower throughout the whole book, beginning to end, he was strong and determined through it all. Towards the end of the book (the last few chapters), Brian goes through many traumas in which he shows quite a lot willpower. The following paragraphs list a few experiences Brian went through, throughout the book.
