Just like Karl Marx, Old Major calls for all the animals on the farm to unite against their oppressors, or Mr. Jones, the head of Manor Farm. According to Major, rebellion is the way to freedom and encourages them that "Man is the only creature that consumes without producing,(Orwell)” and that the animals should "work night and day, body and soul, for the overthrow of the human race.(Orwell)” His speech is a simplified version of Marx’s Manifesto, published in 1848. Written by Karl Marx and Frederick Engels, this speech depicts the basic idea that the capitalist economic system was was terribly erroneous. Marx claims that if working class workers could replace the capitalists, then all the world’s workers could unite and live freely in peace once and for all. Just like Marx, Old Major focuses on the “exploitation of the animal by Man, who is concerned only with making a profit. The Final Feats is an allegory of the Tehran Conference that took place in November of 1943. The farm animals peek through the farmhouse window to see the pigs explaining to the humans that this was all a big mistake. They never wanted to start a rebellion, and that their goal was “to live at peace and in normal business relations. (Orwell, Schmoop)” This means that the rebellion has finally ended and is now dead. The Tehran Conference, was a meeting of the leaders of the Big Three, who all agreed to fight together to stop Hitler. The conference, had several agreements that related to World War II, and the later Cold War. During this war, Joseph Stalin had succeeded in having a very successful army, and in seeing this, the other leaders asked for his help. Stalin agreed only in exchange for their promise of supporting his government and to give him most of Eastern Poland. Many rules changed in the book as well for a compromise. The animals will not address each other as comrade, they will not pay their respect to old major, and the farm name will be changed back to Manor Farm. The humans and the pigs then all agree and go back to playing their card game. The card game of the Final Feast, alludes to the beginning of the Cold War, when the ace of spades hit the table.
