Florida Museum Experience

I visited The Tampa Museum of Art which built in 1979 and debuted an award-winning new building in 2010. It is located in downtown Tampa, Florida. It exhibits modern and contemporary art, Greek, Roman, and Etruscan antiquities. I never been to an art museum before because I’m not a big fan of art and I don’t have interest in art. I think I lack interest in art because it’s hard for me to understand the meaning or the story behind the piece of art. I decided to visit Tampa Museum of art because this museum because is the closest one and because I heard about it before from my friends. Also one of my friends posted some pictures for the museum surroundings from outside and they caught my eyes. Although I’m not a big fan of art, I thought by visiting the museum I could learn more about history and also I can learn about different cultural beliefs from their art. The building is very modern and so fancy, and made to look like "an electronic jewelbox box sitting on a glass pedestal". The place it’s built in is very nice and the view is amazing. And it’s set on Hillsborough River. There are also a very nice places to sit outside and some playgrounds for kids which makes the museum a very friendly family place where people can chill at. Also there is one of the world’s foremost living sculptors outside the museum set on grass by the Spanish artist Jaume Plensa who has created large-scale artworks related to the human figure for public places around the world. These sculptors engage the visitors before they enter the museum. The museum is also right across from the University of Tampa which I can say it adds to the meaning of the space. Also glazer children's museum is right next to the museum. There are some large huge buildings surroundings
