Focus Group Interview: Ipad

The following tools will be used to document the focus group interview: iPad, EOS Rebel T6, and notepad. The iPad will vocally record the interview using Awesome Voice Recorder. Whereas the EOS Rebel T6 will video record the participants. The video recording will be used for missed observations of non-verbal communication. Finally, the investigator will utilize a notepad for noticeable moments to review and or highlight during transcription and video review analysis. Upon completion of transcription from voice and video recordings, the researcher will note various themes of the participants mindfulness practice to determine if the proposed research questions have been answered to narrow the gap in literature reviews. Comparison notes of the participants will be captured using Microsoft Word and Excel 2016 MSO editions to track coding, document, and prevent confidential breaches. Finally, participants will be able to member check to prevent any incorrect documentation during transcription and ensure validity of the research. The purpose of member checking is to provide participants with rights to their voice and prevent any misunderstanding and miscommunication on the researcher part of the participants testimonies during the focus group. Upon approval from University of New England’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Decatur VA Clinic, consent forms will be provided to all involved parties (see Appendix A) participating in qualitative case study. All participants involved in the focus group identities will be concealed for anonymity and will be recognized by a code created by the researcher.
