Graduation was a month away and everyone, including the teachers were ready to get out of this hell hole of a school. It was that point of the year where it wasn’t warm enough to turn the AC and not cold enough to have the heat on. Everyone in the building was sweating buckets. I never really worried that anything seriously bad or terrifying might happen to me or my family. I was naive to the reality of death and part of me believed that death only occurred in movies to make them more suspenseful and emotional, but then again, I was only around 7 or 8 years old.
