Dictionary
I chose a dictionary because I feel as if it represents Freaks love for the english language. Although Freak is physically handicapped he is extremely intelligent. Freak has a little body but he has a giant brain. I think the dictionary shows Freaks giant vocabulary. He even made his own dictionary for Max, as if that isn’t impressive enough.
Glasses
The reason that I chose to use a pair of glasses to represent Freak is because he saw the world in his own way. Everyone has a different perspective of the world, Freak saw it in a more exciting version. The way he saw everything, was connected to King Arthur and a quest or a journey. He knew he wasn’t in proper health, so he wanted his life to be fun. He chose to see the world in a happy manner.
King Arthur armor …show more content…
The armor is what inspired Freak, what Freak hoped for. Freak really wanted to be the first human/robot body. He wanted to be really strong and not be sick. Near the end of the novel Freak knows that’s not going to happen but he doesn’t give up.
Ornithopter
Like Freak the ornithopter has physical limitations. In the novel when Freak and Max are playing with the plastic bird the elastic breaks. When the elastic broke Freak wasn’t mad at all, he was completely calm. He knew it wasn’t broken it just needed some “periodic maintenance”.
Freak and Max
I drew Freak on Max’s shoulders to show the friendship they had. They were the total opposites, but together they were one. Max had the physical skills and Freak had the mental skills. They were stronger as a team. Freak inspired Max to do quests and to go on adventures but once Freak died Max went back to hiding in the dark for a significant amount of time. Until loretta Lee reminds him about his gift from Freak. The gift inspired Max to read and write their story.
