Friar Lawrence is a well-known priest in Verona that plays a crucial role in the story of Romeo and Juliet. Not only does the priest decide to wed both Romeo and Juliet, he also schemes up a plan in which the both can run away together to live happily married. Friar Lawrence throughout the play is is an honest and compassionate person, especially to Romeo who gets into trouble frequently. Along with helping romeo out he ends up getting caught up in a bit of suspicion as to how he was involved with the deaths of three in the would-be tomb of Juliet.
