The 21st century has been built up by many factors. One of the most important factors is Genetic counseling. Genetic counseling is the act of diagnosing and classifying a genetic disease to identify unaffected and affected carriers of the defective gene. This helps us to counsel them about their risk of passing it down to their children. Genetic counseling is very helpful, informative, and practical. It seems to be enhancing the knowledge of parents. Genetic counselors can help to identify and interpret the risks of an inherited disorder. They are professionals who have completed a master’s program in medical genetics and counseling skills. Genetic counseling has a fairly good apprehension of the disease nature and risk numbers for those who might actually have it. …show more content…
I strongly believe that genetic counseling comes with a lot of benefits to humanity. It can help with the implications of miscarriages, birth defects, genetic disorder screenings, and particular infections. This helps to increase the awareness of the person this involves. It serves as a central resource of information about genetic disorders for the general public. Genetic counseling has the effect of waking somebody who didn’t know that they had any genetic/familial disorders up. Genetic counseling would also emphasize the protocols a person with a certain implication should take upon. For example, schizophrenia is a disorder that I’ve studied and it has relations towards this topic. There have been many gatherings about genetic counseling for schizophrenia that may ultimately help in priming individuals and families for further molecular genetic findings in the future.
