In the past few years, global warming has been one of the most talked about subjects by the United States Government. Some Scientists say how bad it is and that we need to find an alternative power source to fossil fuels. Actually, global warming is a scam! “There are tens of thousands of well-educated, mainstream scientists who do not agree that global warming is occurring at all. In fact, there hasn’t been any Global Warming since 1997. If nothing changes by next year, highschool graduates will have never seen global warming “(Hawkins). In other words, the temperature of the planet has essentially been flat for 17 years. The Earth’s climate may be changing but it is part of the normal cycle. The Earth’s temperature is constantly changing, getting warmer, the cooling down again. Temperatures have dropped steadily from the late 1940s to the late 1970s. The popular press was even talking about a coming ice age (Ferrara). It’s a scam to get their buddies in the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) more money from the taxpayers. It affects American consumers who are buying cars. Consumers who want to buy cars are now spending more money to do so. Our government is trying to tell us what kind of cars we can drive in an effort to stop global warming. The government is pushing smaller more fuel efficient vehicles. Not all Americans have families that will fit in a small car. Some of these families need bigger vehicles to transport their family. Global warming is causing gas prices to increase. “Concerns about global warming lead to regulations to reduce greenhouse emissions from cars. As producers spend more money producing lower-carbon fuels they pass the expense onto customers”

20,000 years ago, at the height of the last ice age, global temperatures were five degrees colder than now (Shaftel). Or for something a little closer to home, sixteen of the last seventeen years have been the hottest years ever recorded, with each new year setting the new record after the last (Shaftel). In 2014, 1300 independent leading ecological scientists convened for the Fifth Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change at the United Nations. They concluded there was a 95% chance that this increase has been the direct result of human activities such as burning fossil fuels (Intergovernmental Panel). The temperature increase has far deeper consequences than just hotter days, though.…

President Obama, according to Elisabeth Rosenthal in her article, “The End of Car Culture”, has “ambitious goals to curb the Unites States’ greenhouse gas emissions”. If the President of the United States is concerned, this means it is a real problem. The immense amount of greenhouse gases caused by cars has already aided Global Warming and the damage to the ozone layer that exists today. If car usage increases or holds steady, even more damage will be done, so much so that it may become unfixable in the future. If the world does not cut back now on its vehicle usage and reduce environmental damage, things will only get harder to fix.…

Canipe 1 Global Myth "Global Warming refers to a long-term increase in the Earth's surface temperature that results in large scale changes in global climate" (Freedman and Duncan 1). Global Warming is a highly debated topic. Many people believe it is a real danger due to the studies from NASA, which do not go along with other scientist's studies. Other studies show global temperatures have been declining every year since 1998. "During the 20th century, the earth warmed 0.6 degrees Celsius, but that has been wiped out in a single year with a drop of 0.63 degrees Celsius in 2007.…

Imagine a barren wasteland, incapable of supporting the growth of any form of life and overpopulated with more people than it could sustain: this is the future of the earth. But, this is not just another scene from a sci-fi film of a population that has expedited their vital resources, but the reality for the “over 7 billion people” who populate the home we call earth (Hardaway 4). A considerable amount of blame is placed on global warming which is an “increase in the temperature of the lower atmosphere“; however, global warming has not garnered enough acceptance from some political officials and skeptics due to the term’s ambiguity (“global warming”). Global warming is often confused with climate change and although these terms sound alike…

Everyone is familiar with pollution and greenhouse gasses. They understand that our vehicles pollute, and it is not helping our environment. Our citizens’ march in the street for change and oil companies take the majority of the blame. The bottom line is everyone wants less pollution; however, the reality is that we choose because of convenience. We choose the convenience of driving our own cars, instead of taking the bus to work.…

Global warming is being caused by humans and something should be done about it. The reason global warming is so prevalent is because people do not know they are hurting the environment and some people do not believe it is real. There will be consequences to everyone if nothing is done about it. Around the world, less than half the people in the UK (43 percent), Germany (49 percent), and Norway (34 percent) believe that global warming is caused by civilization (Le Page).…

Although it has become such a controversial topic, it is indisputable that there has been a change in the climate in recent history and continues to do so. Furthermore, there is a mounting body of evidence to prove that the cause behind global warming is man-made. Despite the growing evidence, a number of scientists still believe the current changes in the climate a part of a natural global cycle.…

Climate change has been happening long before humans. However, the changes are minimal. Earth has been through many stages of global warming and cooling by natural causes. The variations in the Earth’s orbit can fluctuate how warm or cold the temperature can get. The closer the Earth is to the sun, the warmer the climate would be and the farther away from the sun, the cooler it would be.…
