After finding out about this issue Sarah was ready to create her marketing campaign and avoid the sins of greenwashing. After she had her plan ready she presented to the CEO and the executive team and proposed a budget of $250,000 for the sustainability side of the campaign and $250,000 to the marketing side of the campaign. Mr. Becker stood up right away and told Sarah how much he loved it but wasn't happy with the money being spent for the sustainability side of the campaign since it was going to cut into their savings so he completely cut that side of the campaign and only kept the marketing budget. Everyone seemed to be excited about this idea except Sarah since she was the only one who noticed the major issue here and questioned herself in how the company has not learned at all from the last time they got caught greenwashing. Worried day and night Sarah thought about talking to Alice and letting her know the issue behind launching this campaign and so she did. After telling Alice what would happen, she completely disregarded it took her out of her office. She told Sarah to act like that convertion never happened and how they should all respect the CEO since he is a genies and has been doing this job for years. Some companies out there do actually make a difference to make the environment a better place but usually the greenwashing companies outweighs the actual green companies. I really liked how they said in this case how the customers view companies and the three most important things we are all looking for. The three most important things are to be honest and transparent in their communication, produce quality products, and to treat the employees good. I believe in this because in my company we always enforce being honest and transparent with what we do in our day to day operations, we produce quality food to standards by never skipping a step, and we treat our employees very well. Corporations should have a social responsibility to not have greenwashing in their companies since it is not fair that we are supporting companies for being green when they are really not and are actually still harming the environment. In this case study I see Sarah as a representation of me. She reminds me of myself because she was experienced at we she was doing and she knew what she was doing was going to make the companie better for the consumers and the environment.
