Just as there are the two political parties, there are two “parties” to gun control. The citizens in favor of gun ownership, and the freedom to obtain and use guns, are relying on the Constitution. However, the opposing side is relying on the statistics that come from the increasing number of shootings across the nation. It is also hard for parents to send their children to school knowing that there is a possibility that another student could have a gun in their possession and use it whenever he or she pleases. Law enforcement has been ready for incidents like that to occur, and they have responded as quickly as possible, but that does not always keep everyone safe and away from the gunman. It is important that people understand that the gun is not the problem, it is the person who possess it; they are the ones obtaining it, carrying it around, and firing it.
