Spire Rehabilitation Hospital is a joint venture hospital with HealthSouth and West Tennessee Health Care. The hospital will be operated by HealthSouth and all employees will be under the HealthSouth umbrella and adopting the HealthSouth mission and vision statements. HealthSouth’s mission is to be the healthcare company of choice for patients, employees, physicians, and shareholders by providing high quality care in the communities we serve. HealthSouth’s vision is to make diversity a core part of the way we do business; using each other’s strengths to make Spire Rehabilitation Hospital an inclusive community with diversity at the core of its business practices. Goals were set for quality, workforce, financial performance, growth, operations, and compliance. Town hall meetings are held every quarter from the home office with the leadership teams to review the goals and objectives, and then each individual hospital holds mandatory town hall meetings to inform all employees in the organization. Ongoing communication through meetings, online webinars, postings, and departmental meetings has been strong in the organization to pass on the mission, vision and strategy so that all employees share the same beliefs and values. HealthSouth has effectively communicated with employees so that the mission and vision has been adopted and shared among employees. Goals are being met in all categories and HealthSouth was ranked as one of the top 100 best healthcare workplaces. This achievement reveals the “buy-in” from employees in the organization.
