Did you think the movie Eight Below was a heartwarming story? Well did you know a Husky (the lead dog) was beaten up by his trainer which included five punches in the diaphragm. Lots of animals are beaten, abused and neglected on movie sets.

Many animals go through abuse and neglect without any care. An example would be in the making of the Hobbit, 27 animals reportedly perished from dehydration according to www.hollywoodreporter.com. Animals are put in danger when careless crew members do things without taking precautions for animals welfare on some movie sets. In the movie “Heaven’s Gate” which is known for its animal cruelty, rumors from the set was said that cows were cut to provide fake blood for the actors. During a battle scene, four horses were apparently killed, including one which was blown up with dynamite said from Listverse.com. Infant animals are taken away from their mothers and subjected to harsh treatments, forced to spend most of their lives in small dirty cages said from Peta.org . They are deprived of living in their natural habitats. A horse named Shanghai became hobbled when his legs were tied repeatedly together to control him because he proved to be too energetic. Animals are often treated harshly because of its manner or nature. After the HBO T.V. series “Luck” was cancelled it was discovered that multiple animals died due to different circumstances. Complaints from animal rights activists emerged after these incidents. In the movie “Snow Buddies” which was about puppies on adventures, the crew brought in more and more puppies because of how fast a puppy grows henceforth separating the puppies from their mothers.
