High School Involvement Analysis

Improved Essays
Based off of my involvement in high school, the advice I would give to a middle schooler would be geared towards the kids who struggle with school. Simply, because I was that student who struggled with school all his life. The most unbiased advice I can give such middle schooler is to surround yourself with people who want to be successful in life and in school. Such people will push you to become a better character without you even knowing it and who you surround yourself with molds you. Don’t let your past determine your future because if your past was bad it’s only temporary whereas you still have a future to look forward to. Learn how to self educate and teach yourself including others because someday you could be the change in the world

Growing up in a Latino immigrant family, I was always expected to go to college. However, neither of my parents had graduated high school, so they could only offer me moral support and words of encouragement. My parents engrained in me a strong work ethic, and it was the driving force of my success in school, but I needed guidance. Still, college was an obscure goal and I did not know how I was going to attain it, but in my second year of high school I was fortunate…

Student organizations on campus can also learn how to increase participation and membership in the organization from the non-traditional student. The Sanctuary of School The essay I chose to write was over the short article of “The Sanctuary of School” by Lynda Barry. In this story it talks about the author Lynda Barry’s experience with the school from a young age. She talks about growing up in a home with her mom and her dad having money issues, relatives that kept moving in, her brother and her sleeping on the couch, and the constant fighting going on. She explains how she didn’t feel safe at home so she talks about school being a safe haven for her, and how lucky she was that she had Mrs. LeSane and Mr. Gunderson.…

During this time I would play games with them or talk to them about anything they wanted guidance with.
