This essay is about the research I did over the Jewish ghettos of the Holocaust. In this essay I will explain to you about the ghettos that were built or involved in the Holocaust. You will gain facts about life in these ghettos. You learn the different types of ghettos. You will gain knowledge of the history and origin of these ghettos. Nazi had Jews concentrated from everywhere in Hungary except for the capital, Budapest for a while. Eventually the Nazis had gotten a few ghettos inside of Budapest, Hungary. One of the ghettos in Budapest had over 63,000 Jews inside of a 0.1 square mile area! Families had to share a house or room with friends but mostly strangers. A majority of all the Jews that were concentrated were sent to the concentration/death camp Birkenau, Auschwitz. When who could not work weren’t shot in Budapest. Instead they did not receive their food tickets, so they didn’t get to eat. This lead to mass starvation and death throughout the camps. Well over 75,000 Jewish men, women, and children that lived in the ghettos died from lack of nutrients, and starvation, and disease. On January 1945 Budapest Hungary had been liberated from Soviet Russia. Soviet Russia had liberated nearly 9,000 Jews out of the 440,000.
