The first reason to explain my desire to attend Holy Names is purely academic. During my HNA visit, I attended classes such as Physical Education, Biology, Algebra 2 Honors, Honors English, Liturgy, and a French language class. I gained more knowledge in that one day than in a combination of two days at my current school. I also found that the teachers were very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. In fact, I remember my tour guide’s biology teacher speaking about the reconstruction of Seattle after the historic Seattle fire as a result of a student asking about a potential mass earthquake. On the tour, I observed that the teachers really cared about all the students and their education. In Biology, the teacher also sacrificed her own time to carve out four studying sessions for the students in order to prepare for a big test. Being inside Holy Names …show more content…
The website describes a total of eight different musical activities that meet before, during, and after school. These programs include vocal and chamber ensembles, jazz band, and orchestra’s that I would like to be a part of. At this point in time, I currently participate in orchestras playing cello, string bass, and violin, and enjoy being a part of Seattle Girls’ Choir and Seattle Opera Productions. Holy Names is also one of four Washington schools to offer the AP Music Theory course that I want to take in order to earn credits for music theory courses I wish to take in my college
