Honor Society Goals

I have always had large goals for myself, and that began when I was young. My parents continuously pushed me to accomplish the biggest things that I could and never had any doubt that I could do it. They believed that I could achieve anything that I put my mind to, and as I grew older that helped in ways that I would not have expected. I strived to always do the best that I could to the extent of my ability. Thanks to their continued support I have accomplished many things, such as being accepted in National Honor Society. When I first applied for the organization I was unprepared, I did not have enough volunteer hours or leadership opportunities. That was when I decided I was going to work harder for it in order to accomplish something that meant a lot to me. I had experience volunteering before I applied for NHS, I made blankets for the less fortunate babies at Truman Medical Center. After I determined I would have to put more into the work that I did outside of school, I found opportunities to volunteer and spent more of my time dedicating it to other organizations. I worked hard to achieve it because I knew that I possessed the required skills. The volunteering helped me to open my eyes to the things that I didn’t always notice and made me a better person in the process. I learned how to better manage my time in order to get everything done that I wanted to while keeping my normal lifestyle. I stepped up in many ways and put myself into situations that I wouldn’t have normally put myself in, getting me out of my comfort zone and preparing me for my future. Due to the hard work that I went through, I was able to put it all on my next application, rewarding me with the membership that I had strived so hard for.
