Horse Race Argument Analysis

This article presents an argument focused around how during election years political coverage in the media is given to those who can afford the high price. It specifically looks at political campaigns from the 2012 presidential election and how voters were practically bought by politicians because of the amount of money that was spent of political advertisements. But more importantly he discusses the psychological toll this type of campaigning has on the American public and how effective political advertisements aren’t the friendliest form of garnering votes for candidates.
Though this article is technically not peer-reviewed or published in a scholarly journal it is still a well thought out and researched article. The author brings in quotes from other sources as well as quotes from Russian law to make his point very clear on how he doesn’t approve of Horse Race media tactics.

The writer uses other countries policies to prove a point about how in other countries during election season media actually covers candidate stances because there is a ban on poll numbers being discussed. His argument about banning poll is an argument against Horse Race media biases, which is exactly the issue this research paper is discussing and reading about it from a journalist’s point of view is
