How Ancient Greece Influenced Us Today

Just think of walking past the Lincoln memorial, in Washington, NW. As you walk past see you may notice the exquisite Doric columns on the memorial just like the ones from ancient Greece in the Classical period. The Classical period was full of new architecture and inventions that included the calendar, columns and other architecture, and the, at the time brand new, form of democracy. These developments from ancient civilizations still influence us today.

One example of how ancient greece influenced us today is that we use the same calendar as them. The calendar helps us tell time and the year. The calendar was invented by Pope Gregory. Without the calendar we would never know when it was and everybody would be confuzzled. In (doc 4) it
