In December 1941 Nazi Germany, and Japan declared war on the United States, and though this was a groundbreaking event for everyone, it didn’t stop one man from London. During this given time of war there would be a hero from not the actual war itself, but emerge inside the mind of that person. Thus it impacted everything that was going on, and not just the war, but technology itself. That man’s name was Alan Turing and he shaped what our world looks like today, from smartphones that could sent a single message in seconds, to satellites that monitor our solar system from hundreds of miles away. Even though World War II was what determined …show more content…
Turing moved on to reading mathematical logic of Bertrand Russell’s work, and brought forth the idea of the Turing Machine, after realizing that mind and matter from mathematical logic are the problem to Alan Turing’s crucial innovation (Andrew Hodges). This then caused more inspiration to what he wanted to do in the future, and yet how useful his moral of ideas could then be used later on in life. Turing was then becoming a man throughout the college he attended, where he found great inspiration with his teacher Christopher Morcom, and combined the newest ideas of mathematics within himself to plan out the computability of the Turing …show more content…
Without his talented abilities of his mind, and how he observed the world around him, the war would have probably lasted two years longer with millions of lives lost (David DiSalvo). Not only did he prevent this kind of horrid event from happening, but he also changed modern society and how it functions daily. With his innovation of the modern computer from the UTM, we improved his innovations to a vast majority of inventions. His is crucial in our history of world events, because without him many things may have never existed, like medicine that needed to be produced from analyzing the viruses, diseases, flus. To our world competing in the space race to the moon, which involved the invention of the spaceship. From smartphones that could sent a single message in seconds, to satellites that monitor our solar system from hundreds of miles away, Alan Turing is an important symbolic figure not just for technology, but also for humanity
