The American Dream is the idea that every American has the chance to achieve the success and wealth through hard work and determination. F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby" is a tragedy set during the roaring 1920s, it tells Jay Gatsby tries to win the love of his lost desire, Daisy Buchanan. Jay Gatsby made his life goal striving to achieve the American Dream, even with many attempts he eventually failed to make the dream a reality for himself.
