Food production is based upon the agricultural industry, which is the foundation of civilization ("Background on Agricultural Practices and Food Technologies", 2017). The quality of life did not necessarily increase as anemia and other diseases, which plague modern poor populations, did not occur among hunter-gatherers. This lifestyle protected these mobile groups against various parasites (Cohen, n.d.). In consequence, the modern diet introduced through food production and in some cases sedimentary lifestyle, increased the chances of diseases. Food production is linked to permanent settlements becoming more numerous. Thus, influencing how humans still live today. In modern-day life, most people tend to live in one place for a period of time. The introduction of settlements lead to towns and cities, which is what makes up civilizations today. Historic developments that benefited food production such as, manure, animal husbandry, and the plow are still used today ("Background on Agricultural Practices and Food Technologies", 2017). For one, I have a job. I currently work as a cashier in a grocery store and without food production there would not be food to sell or a place to sell them. The surplus of food created by food production has created many jobs and careers in the modern world. For example, farmers, suppliers, delivery guys, or anything in the agricultural field. If the agricultural industry did not develop into what it is today I would think food would not be as readily available. If I want food I can drive to a grocery store, restaurant, or fast-food place. I can even have it delivered. I wonder what my ancestors would think of that? I do not have to worry about collecting, growing, or hunting to feed myself. If food was not as readily available, as it is today thanks to food production, I would have to worry about where I live. I would need to be in a location where I could grow or raise my own crops and animals or in an area where I could hunt and gather. Food production has impacted where I live. I do not need to consider the ability to grow or find food when I move or where I currently live. The most I should do is take into consideration how far I am willing to drive to a grocery store. Location is not an issue in most parts of the world. I could live in a barren area and still have access to food. It also impacts how I live my life. I do not have to worry all day long about how I am going to feed myself. I can go to school, work,
