Unless the boys start working together, they will not get off the island. It shows that Piggy wants to get the others. Then when they get together and talk about what they will do about being on the island and what they're going to do to survive. Since no one knows they are on the island this is why the they're going to have to try harder to survive. The boys need to start following the rules and if they don't they will not survive.
