The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, them being Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and, UAE, have taken humanitarian action by hosting around three million Syrian refugees, allowing access to free education, healthcare, and employment. Bahrain itself has taken in 355 refugees in total, which is very little compared to other refugee accepting countries. Bahrain would like to continue its financial support to Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, and Egypt as former UNHCR, António Guterres calls for massive investment toward those countries in order to prevent refugees from slipping into further destitution. Also, Bahrain would like to make more and constant contributions to the UNHCR as it had not before to aid not only the countries in the Middle East, but to distant countries in Southeast Asia and to countries around it.
