I Want To Study Hunter College

Hunter College’s location, scholar program, diversity, opportunity, and other factors encouraged me to make it the right fit for me and my home. I am undecided about what my career will be in the future, but I am interested in the pre-medical track and malpractice. I look forward to majoring in Chemistry and in another subject, possibly Biology. Being in the city, I hope to find an internship opportunity in a medical facility or at a law firm, where I can learn more about my potential future career. I have applied for the Yalow Scholar Program and Roosevelt Scholar Program which pertain to the two areas I am very interested in, the medical field and law field. I am interested in the two fields because it is my desire to help people. As cliché that may sound, it is my wish. I want to ensure that all people are given the necessary aid and that no one’s individual rights are infringed upon. …show more content…
I talked to her about the fields of study I was interested in, and she told me that Hunter College is the best choice. She told me about how people have received internships at the District Attorney’s office and at NYU’s medical center; this makes Hunter College the perfect college for just from that piece of information, it gives its students great opportunities that other colleges can’t offer. Along with my interest for my career, I also have a special interest in contributing to the community of Hunter College. I would like to participate in several clubs, so that I can meet more people and interact with the student body.
Therefore, I look forward to attending Hunter College and being a part of it. I hope to work with so many diverse people to help make Hunter College and the city life a better and an even more pleasant place than it already

My pursuit of a medical degree is greatly strengthened by the Columbia University Public Health Scholars Program (SPHSP). Prior to matriculation from the program my source of motivation held no true direction, I wanted to simply “help people”. During SPHSP I was exposed to federally qualified health centers (FQHC) and my eyes were opened to new medium to help people. I admired the measures that FQHC put in place to effectively serve a population of people that, under normal circumstances, would not be able pursue healthcare. FQHCs aligned closely to the sense of equity that I began to develop as I was exposed to communities suffering from health disparities over the course of the internship.…
