When Lacy and Matt started their fertility journey, they knew nothing about IVF

According to Lacy, “Dr. Silverberg was great, but we were pregnant so I thought, ‘It was nice to meet you, but I guess we don’t need fertility treatment.’” However, when Lacy went in for blood work, her numbers suggested that there was problem. Around the same time, she also started having pain in her side.
Dr. Silverberg thought she might have an ectopic pregnancy, so he recommended that she come into the office immediately. After examining her, Dr. Silverberg’s suspicions were confirmed and he performed surgery, which saved her fallopian tube. “It was a difficult time, but the team at Texas Fertility Center was great through the whole process,” said Lacy.
At this point, Lacy was 40. Due to her history of ectopic pregnancy and her advanced maternal age, Dr. Silverberg recommended in vitro fertilization, IVF. “The procedure would allow him to place the embryo right where it needed to be,” she said.
