Iep Reaction Paper

Thank you Lauren, for updating Savod Green's IEP. As a team we observed his behaviors escalating during a certain periods of times, which are in the morning during ELA when he is hyperactive along with him being hungry. On many occasions, Savod has expressed himself of being hungry (which we will provide a snack to him) and /or the work is too hard which he will shutdown and refuse to do the work assigned. I understand and agree, this is not needed in his IEP, therefore it is a situation we can and will address in the classroom to help him eliminate his disruption behaviors. In addition to the snacks provided to Savod, we as a team will provided him with fidgets/manipulation/sensory therapy tools to decrease unwanted behaviors.

The Capistrano Unified School District took the parents of Jeremy Wartenberg, Wayne and Charlene Wartenberg to court in their refusal to pay for Jeremy’s private school tuition, fees spent at the private school, and attorney fees. The school district expresses that Jeremy’s behavior comes from his own willfulness to misbehave not his disability. The school psychologist, although acknowledging that Jeremy had a learning disability of attention deficit disorder (ADD), which allowed for an IEP and services, felt that it was not sever enough to be a contributing factor to his behavior. He felt that Jeremy’s primary behavior was largely related to his failure to work, cooperate, and school truancies rather than his primarily disability of ADD. He acknowledged that Jeremy’s behavior could be a contributing factor of his Conduct Disorder, which is not covered under a learning…

The carp could act as however it is being portrayed as or it could mean something important to what it is being associated with. Many mythical symbols have a beginning, such as the carp. There are stories about the origin of the carp, but those are not one-hundred percent true. “The real origin of those coloured creatures was in truth, more of an accident than by any real intentions and they are truly ‘man made’” (“Origins and Myths” 1).…

LaToya, It is wonderful to meet you, I also have three dogs and understand the time it takes to care for three dogs. What caught my eye in your post was the student you had in your class that had a one on one aid. Taking notes and escorting him everywhere was certainly in his IEP. He possibly had a processing disorder that prevented him from writing and listening at the same time, or he simply couldn't write yet. I know from personal experience that getting a one on one is very hard to do with in the FAPE.…

This IEP meeting was for a student, whom I will call Laura, for an annual IEP meeting. She is an ELL student, so the meeting started with us waiting for about 45 minutes for the translator. She was late due to another meeting, and the mother spoke no English, so we had to wait patiently. Once everyone was in attendance, we started with introductions. The people in attendance at the meeting were as follows: special education teacher, general education science teacher, mother, interpreter, school psychologist, assistant principle, and myself.…

    1. My brief experience working with what Jeffco calls Severe Emotional Disorder (SED), I found a lot of the students are good kids with no role models. The only thing this kids learn from their parents is violence, how to stand their ground and a less than preferred vocabulary. While some students have great parents and suffer from a psychological disorder, I find the general case less than great patenting. These kids are incredibly anger and often direct it where they can, to include teachers and other students who mean them no harm.…

Everyday is a special day in room 302. We attempt to be very organized and lessons may be very thorough, but every day is a different day. We have a diverse group of individuals that require additional support and services in the regular education settings. My class consists of students that are very academically engaged, some receive learning support, some are co-programmed with the life support class, and a few behavior concerns, but I strongly agree that students with significant cognitive disabilities can effectively learn academic content from being in the general education classroom (Kleinert, H. pg. 326). We may face several obstacles when attempting to teach students with various disabilities in the least restrictive environment.…
