Take for example the proposal for the president wanting to increase the minimum wage. He talks on this subject quite strongly, but like I said it is wrong because it is so dominated by the first impression. Poor Americans may be better off than poor Africans.” At the end of the day though they are still poor and the rate of the people in poverty hasn’t been changing, but at the same time the rich has been getting richer. Still the work has been disappearing for those at the bottom; government dependency has grown and mobility has fallen. When will this all change? If it will even at all, the rich are just going to keep getting stronger and closer with the government according to Brooks, which I do believe is very true and needs to stop
